Why we need to act now.

Sabarimala is located inside the dense low altitude evergreen forests of Periyar Tiger Reserve (PTR) in Kerala, which is also one of the most important wildlife sanctuaries in India. It is home not only to Tigers but also to many endangered and threatened species of flora and fauna. The plastic deposit by devotees has impacted the precious patch of Sabarimala forests. Plastic waste devotees leave behind in the forest, such as PET water bottles to plastic covers, pooja items in plastic packets/containers, food packets, wrappers, etc. become a potential threat to forest and wild animals.
